Meet the Many Faces of PWDA
- Lisa Marie Samaha, DDS; Academy of General Dentistry Fellow; American Academy of Periodontology Associate Member; American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Member
- Maria Luinetti, Senior Clinical Assistant, Orthodontic Assistant
My creative background is in fashion design and I have lived all over the world, but no matter what I have done or where I have lived, the profession of dentistry has been my truest joy. And working with Dr Samaha has been the ultimate experience. At Port Warwick Dental Arts, Dr. Samaha makes certain that periodontal care is truly a focus, creating a great atmosphere for learning the best skills and knowledge for being an accomplished dental assistant. We are so successful in helping our patients heal, improving not only their dental health but their general systemic health, as well. Dr Samaha is also an exceptional cosmetic dentist, creating stunning smiles every day. I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful, patient-centered practice such as ours. It is the most rewarding opportunity I have ever had.
I was born and grew up in Columbia, South America, and as an adult, have enjoyed the opportunity to live for extended periods in Italy, Hawaii and now, Virginia. I have two beautiful teenage girls.
- Nancy Heath, Registered Dental HygienistI was honored when I became Dr Samaha’s choice in a dental hygienist, having heard so many wonderful things about her clinical expertise, as well as her well-recognized teaching and research in leading-edge periodontal care, (the primary passion of any dedicated dental hygienist!) Immediately impressed with the dedication of the entire team at Port Warwick Dental Arts, I knew I wanted to be a part of their world.
A graduate from Westbrook College School of Dental Hygiene in Portland, Maine, my New England roots were based in Connecticut and I had the privilege of being an integral part of an excellent practice which was consistently named, “Top Dental Practice in Connecticut”, much like Port Warwick Dental Arts. Clearly, working with a Doctor and team I can be proud of, is important to me.
After Dr Samaha’s extensive, national search for a hygienist, I was offered the position. With 25 years of clinical practice and my enthusiasm for our profession, Dr Samaha felt I would be the perfect one to continue Port Warwick Dental Art’s mission of excellence in periodontal and preventive dental therapy. This meant moving my family from our home in Connecticut, to Hampton Roads. My daughter had recently graduated from William and Mary and we love the area. With the opportunity to be a part of Dr Samaha’s team, the decision to move was immediate!
I am amazed at the high level of awareness and dental health of each one of Port Warwick Dental Art’s existing patients, and the eagerness and motivation of our new patients. All of this has created for me, a truly rewarding opportunity to continue to make a difference in the dental health (and thus, general health) of each one of our patients.
- Leah Quillopo, Clinical & Lab AssistantHello my name is Leahcel Quillopo, but those close to me call me “Leah.” I was born and raised in the Philippines with beautiful family all around me. I became a dental technician and then a dentist, while living there. In 2006, I was married to Michael Quillopo, and we eventually moved to Virginia and were gifted with a cute little boy we call “MJ.”
At Port Warwick Dental Arts, I work to support Dr. Samaha and the team in all ways in the clinical area, but especially with my expertise in the dental lab area, including dentures. Being part of the Port Warwick Dental Art’s team is a great opportunity for me.
I have learned so much from Dr. Samaha, not only from chairside experience, but from her dynamic and loving philosophy of life. Dr. Samaha is one-of-a-kind, in the absolute best way! You can see her passion in her care for each patient, her office team, her family and all those who are a part of her life. I call her “my angel” – and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. In Dr. Samaha, you will find excellent treatment from a talented doctor and a special friend. And you will always be in safe hands.
